Curious
or Concerned about Cookies? Please Read On:
A cookie is a small bit of
text data that is sent from a Web site to your web browser and stored
on your computer's hard drive. Since the cookie cannot be "executed"
as code, it can't contain viruses or other malicious programs that might
harm your computer or compromise your privacy.
Cookies cannot collect information
about your system or gather data from your hard drive. And while you may
receive cookies from many different sites, each cookie can only be read
by the Web server that originally created it; a cookie created by http://www.yahoo.com/,
for example, can't be read or modified by http://www.castrator.com/
